Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Text or email me to arrange a free 15 mins telephone conversation

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you to manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It is most commonly used to treat anxiety, low self-esteem and depression, but research has shown that it can help a wide variety of mental and physical problems. CBT is a type of therapy where a psychotherapist or therapist uses a structured process to help their clients quickly become aware of negative or inaccurate thinking patterns so they can better cope and respond to them in a more effective manner. One of the benefits of behaviour therapy is that it generally requires fewer sessions than other types of therapy.

How CBT works

CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and behaviour are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. The course of treatment usually lasts for 6 sessions, with each session lasting 50 minutes, however, I can offer longer treatment depending on your individual situation.

I can help you overcome other issues using CBT that include:

  • Neurodivergent issues

  • Disorganised eating

  • Life Coaching

  • School Issues

  • Adolescent or Child Mental health issues

A typical session

A session usually takes place face-to-face in a therapy room. However, there is an increasing demand for online sessions by either ZOOM, Teams, Whats App, or by telephone. I am skilled and have experience in all methods.
